Mai-Wel and Headspace: Empowering Young People Through Colocation Partnership in Cessnock and Maitland
Mai-Wel LabourForce Solutions is excited to announce the official launch of a colocation partnership with Headspace in Cessnock and Maitland, providing young people with the vital mental health and employment support they need.
This partnership has been in development since early 2023, and we are thrilled to now bring this collaboration to life. The partnership will see Mai-Wel’s team, led by Youth Specialist Mentor Kate and in collaboration with Aimee, Headspace Centre Manager, onsite every fortnight at Cessnock on Thursdays and Maitland on Fridays, from 9 am to 4 pm.
Headspace offers essential services in mental health, physical health, alcohol and other drug support, as well as study and employment guidance. By working together, Mai-Wel and headspace are creating a safe, supported pathway to help young people overcome barriers to employment and access the mental health services they need.
The goal of this partnership is to provide integrated support that helps participants on their journey toward employment. The values that drive both Mai-Wel and headspace are perfectly aligned: empowering young people, fostering positive mental health, and facilitating life-changing opportunities for those in our community.
“We are proud to partner with headspace to address the intersection of mental health and employment for young people,” says Jaime Canavan, Community Engagement Specialist, The Mai-Wel Group. “This collaboration is a significant step toward helping our participants achieve their goals, break down barriers, and open new opportunities for their futures.”
With our Mai-Wel team onsite every fortnight, young people in Maitland and Cessnock will have access to the combined resources and expertise of two dedicated organisations committed to changing lives.
